aborted fetus and balut

a succulent feast! I wonder if it taste just like balut?

Aborted fetus and Balut

Recently, news sprouted about aborted fetus being left or thrown everywhere, of which mostly is in front of the church. Cruel indeed, innocent lives of yet an unborn are sacrificed by women who intend to save their faces from disgrace. I know…. I know…. Why should I care about those women? I just pity for the life of the child. Definitely, these women violate the right to life. And I think men and women alike nowadays are acting animals. I mean we are losing some respect and morality here. Pardon for my lecture, it just seems that teaching has always been flowing through my veins plus my little activist orientation when it comes to rights, and freedoms. I don’t have any grudge against those women, in fact, I pity them. Their conscience will always bother then and the ghost that they have created will always haunted them. Perhaps the proposed two child policy of the house of representative exacerbates it. not that I am against with the proposal of Representative Edcel Lagman or any of our congressmen, but different issues should be given much attention than family planning.

Far out I would say! But I’ll try my best to reconcile this with my serious introduction. Infanticide and abortion is not really that new in the Philippines. The Spanish friars from 16th century taught us how to do it. Some of them who abused our great grandmothers tried to conceal their crime that they induce abortion with the aid of herbs and Hilot or traditional Midwives. Not until the American regime did we learn to practice clinical abortion. Though abortion is not legal in the Philippines because of our strong background in Christian faith, many cases have been recorded by our government. And you know what; Balut making is not different with human abortion; because, before the egg could be fully developed, it is boiled and cook as a meal. Balut is such a succulent feast that most Filipinos enjoy, if not all. I admit, during my younger years, I yearn for it. But that desire came to pass. Though it tastes really good, I feel gross about eating an aborted duck fetus. And besides, balut could cause illness such as hypertension for it is highly rich in protein.

Now morbidity has clouded my mind. If we could eat balut, why can’t we eat aborted human fetus? Sorry for the suggestion but once I’ve read an article that Human flesh is delicious and nutritious than other livestock. Gee! I remember the news about cannibalism in Palawan wherein a man told a news reporter about the taste of human flesh. Another was a movie that I have seen in Turner classic movies, I forgot the title though (was it Soilent Green?). Its plot was about somewhere in the future when there is scarcity of food supply that a certain company tried to manufacture a new brand of food, which is of course, from human meat. Perhaps such event would happen someday if not in our lifetime. Also from H. G. Wells’ “the Time Machine”, he prophesied such event, remember the eloi race? Hey! A friend of mine has sent me sometime ago which I forwarded to our group page about a case in China. Some of you guys knew this or have received an email about it... It is about an herbal soup comprised of wild, bitter herbs and an aborted female fetus. Recently it was proven as a hoax, a smear against China and other Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. But what if it is really true? The pictures of the gourmet are not really of human fetus. It is just a cattle meat fashioned as human like figures.

Filipinos are famous around the world because of their voracious appetite extending from the common food that we eat down to the exotic ones. And I believe that balut could be classified as an exotic dish of which other nation would not likely to eat. If then we lose our mind and be as low as an animal itself, we could bear to eat one of our kind, especially the unwanted ones. But that is another put up scheme that I won’t share with you. This one is a real filth!

Anyways, thanks for your time reading this piece.

21 and relationship is still……

Friends keep on asking me why at the age of 21 I am still a virgin in terms of having relationship. Well, I would always tell them that they are so many that I could not choose easily. And not contented with my answer they will taunt me for being a fag. I wonder if there is really a Homophobic fag. That is if they are really correct on their speculation.

Honestly, at present I am also disturbed with not having a girlfriend. With the social norms that our country has, it is not far of being discriminate or presumed as a homosexual. I am not really against with homosexuals; it is that I am not. And always makes me perk when someone would ask why I am still single.

Ok… I concede to that matter. I am still single till now for the matter that I am afraid to feel rejection. In terms of commitment, I am still not that mature. I know you’ll have pity on me for missing the fun and happiness of having someone. No I am not! I am empathetic to those who have experienced it. When my friends tell me how happy they are with their gals and guys, I too am happy, though not a first hand experience as they have.

I already resolve to the idea of having girlfriend is only such an additional prize. Everyone will go to that stage. I have this sheer feeling that I am going to have a girlfriend (and the right one) by the age of 25 or 26. By that time………… well who knows?
